In Tuen Mun yesterday, a man suspected of having a mental illness attacked a man. The victim who is an employee of Vitasoy was on his way to work, a man suddenly rushed out and used a kitchen knife to attack him. The victim's suffered serious injuries on the left side of his neck. The victim received help after escaping 200 meters and was taken to hospital, his conditions are currently stable. The police searched for the attacker's weapon and the ground floor of the building taking fingerprint, but did not find anything.
More than an hour later, the suspect attacker Chung, 59 years old surrended himself at the police station. He claimed he was involved in the earlier incident injuring a victim. The police arrested him overnight for enquries. After enquries, it was found that the suspect had a history of mental disorders and that he didn't know the victim personally. The police will investgate further on whether the suspect attacked the victim due to losing control.

The spokesman for Vitasoy stated that the company have been informed that a staff member had been injured and in contact with their family. Since the police are investigating the case, they will be inconvenient to comment further.
Tuen Mun District Council member Chan Man Wei pointed out that there are ex-mental illness patients living in Fu Tai, but never occured any violence before. He will continue to follow the case.
