Taiwanese host Blackie slammed for hypocritical remarks about Da Bing
Blackie Chen, who called Da Bing a “talent” after his passing had criticised him on his micro-blog last year
Taiwanese entertainer Blackie Chen is taking the saying 'You never know what you've got until it's gone' to a whole new level with his recent remarks, which have been heavily criticised by netizens.
After Da Bing's passing, Taiwanese celebrities have been expressing their condolences in various ways. Blackie expressed on his Facebook and micro-blog, "(I) will always remember you as the best, most talented entertainer - Da Bing, we will remember you."
Under normal circumstances, it would be seen as a fitting eulogy. However, netizens dug up a past entry on Blackie's micro-blog. In the entry that was posted after Da Bing's fourth brush with the law due to drug abuse, Blackie penned, "I feel that he shouldn't call himself a professional entertainer anymore."
Enraged by his quick turn in words, netizens bombarded Blackie's micro-blog with comments and he soon deleted his posts.
When asked to comment on his posts, he merely said, "There's nothing much to say, as long as (I) remember him forever, it's good enough", showing his unwillingness to talk about the matter.
Netizens have also uncovered that the two were once under the same management company in 2009, when Da Bing was still heavily abusing drugs. However, after that Da Bing had worked hard on quitting his addiction and treated his work with utmost professionalism.
