At around 6pm last Friday evening, a two and a half year old girl was wondering along the light rail platform near Ho Fok Tong. A light rail train passed by and the driver saw the toddler very near to the track, he sounded the warning horn. It alerted a passerby in the platform. She asked the girl what her name was, but did not get an answer from her. She thought the girl probably got lost or separated from her parents. She looked around and asked a few people in the platform, but no one knew where the girl came from. She then called the police who took the little girl back to the police station. The police managed to trace her 30 year old mother in the name of Kwok. The police also found out that the girl was left alone in the house. She got scared, and left the house to look for her mother. Kwok was arrested for child cruelty and neglect, she is allowed bail and will appear in Tuen Mun Court on May 25th.
