A giant dioscorea (wild yam) was discovered in Yuen Long Sun Tin village by an amateur farmer. Around 10 o'clock yesterady morning, 50 year old Mr. Cheng was digging out dioscorea in the field. He found a hugh dioscorea and it took him a lot of effects to unearth it because of its size. Not only is the yam being big, it is red inside too. Mr. Cheng reckoned it is a sign of prosperity, specially it is found during the new year period in the year of dragon. Mr. Cheng works a tutor, his in-laws own the piece of land in the farm, he and his wife both love plants, he revealed that eating dioscorea have the health benefits to the lungs and spleen.
