I've never seen Death Note and don't plan on it watching it, but I saw a comment relating both of these shows so I did some reading online on Death Note and found the characters from both to be quite similar. Which do you think is better? GMG is more realistic and well acted. Both shows had sad endings, but why is Yagami Light listed a protagonist while Stone is the opposite?

On another point, in the series where the woman puts poison in this soup and the old man finds out and kills her with a cane. Why did he go to jail? He could've been dead.
