Da S loves being independent

A household is a fundamental unit in society, but today, people love the different aspects and colors of life. Having fun with friends outside rather than eating a meal at home. However, recently, Barbie Xu (Da S) and Louis Koo met through filming a movie. Personally, they both love the simple life. Both would spend all their non-working moments with their families.

Living in today’s society, everyone wants to live a colorful, exciting life, partying every night and rarely eating dinner at home, and being in the entertainment industry is even better. However, Da S is a part of the group that likes to stick to their families. She spends all of her non-working times at home. She even asks her mother to take care of all her money. Without financial stress in her mind, she explains: “I like buying things, especially shoes, I have hundreds of pairs of shoes at home! I would spend all my money on shopping, so I have to give all my money to my mother to handle, I won’t ask any questions.” Don’t think that she likes shopping because she has money. It actually originated from her sense of responsibility: “To be an actor in the public eye, you can’t really dress the same way every time we meet the public! So buying clothes and shoes is not a waste, it is my responsibility to the audience.”

When she first entered the industry, she was always with her younger sister, Xiao S, singing and hosting together. The two of them were inseparable (孖公仔), Da S even accompanied her sister into the delivery room and constantly babysits her niece. “I am always playing with Xiao S’s older daughter that when she was a toddler, she thought I was her mother, which made Xiao S really mad!” Da S really treasures family life that although her sisters have created their own family, they would always come together. “We eat dinner at home with mom every night! My whole family loves beauty, so there was a period of time when we would go to the market and buy fruit to make fruit juice every day. And the ingredients each day would be different and sometimes the taste would be a little weird.”

Love: Marriage is Only Adding Another Family Member
Da S has been openly dating Vic Zhou for 4 years. Unfortunately, they broke up early this year. She disclosed that their feelings towards each other were already becoming bland. We still support each other as friends. Today, Da S spoke about that love story, and feels that her decision is correct. “We broke up during our happiest time. At the time, we both felt that it was time for us to stop our relationship, we didn’t want to break up when it would be unbearable for the both of us.” It was rumored that the breakup was due to Da S wanting to get married, but she reveals that she doesn’t have a marriage plan yet. “There was a time in the past when I thought of getting married, but when I saw my sisters’ lives were very calm and steady after getting married, I felt that what I want is different, I love being independent and free!”

Although her love life is still uncertain, Da S is still satisfied because she still has a beautiful family life and can still live freely. And she can focus all her attention on working, not having to keep in mind others’ feelings. When will she start her own family? Da S doesn’t want to give herself a time limit. She is satisfied with what she has: “Marry or not, it is just adding one more person into the family!”

Work: So nervous that she can’t eat
Recently, Da S and Louis Koo were filming an EEG movie, 《保持通話》. They only filmed one face-to-face scene; the other scenes were filmed through the phone. Da S still felt it was a great challenge: “Because they film my scenes before filming Louis’s, so I have been depending on my imagination to act. The director would occasionally help make changes. For some scenes, there were several versions. The worst is filming a crying scene because each time, the director would want a major cry, a medium cry, and a small cry version.” She really gets into the scenes so the scenes were easily filmed. Because they were filmed close to the time she broke up with Vic, it made her so nervous that she couldn’t eat. Fortunately, she was able to step away from the character after the filming ended and returned to Taiwan and was able to smile for her hosting work.

On the Love Road
Da S has had three handsome boyfriends, is it possible that she only loves the handsome ones? She says, “I look at the inside, the attractiveness is a bonus! I went out with someone with an unattractive appearance before, he was my first boyfriend.”

Blue Lan (藍正龍)
Idol drama “Meteor Garden” was a great success, and it was where Blue Lan and Barbie fell in love at first sight. Unfortunately, they broke up in 2005.

Vic Zhou (周渝民)
Da S and Vic started when they filmed “Mars” together. This younger brother-older sister love became the most perfect story. Unfortunately, the two announced their peaceful breakup in January of this year.

Charles Chen (陳建州)
Da S and Charles Chen (Blackie) had already known each other for a long time. Earlier, in a show, it was said the two were high school sweethearts, and afterwards, they were still friends.

Tattoo tames the inner beast
Da S is the master of cosmetics, she takes great interest in her appearance. In her earlier years, she even got a few tattoos. With her interest in aliens, she even got an alien-related tattoo. Da S says that tattoo reflects the inner wild feelings. She even uses the analogy of "There's an inner wild beast" to describe her love for independence. However, the tattoos have also brought many problems: "I have to put talcum powder on the tattoos everyday in case they lighten."
