Wife jumped off building because husband wouldn't apply for CSSA
source: sun translated by cici@Asianeu Woman jumping off a building Sustaining serious head injuries in hospital. ![]() Wife jumped from the fourth floor of her home, hit the air-conditioner on 2nd floor before falling onto the ground ![]() Woman damaged the second floor air conditioner when falling off. ![]() "I will not apply for CSSA, even if it means death!" A couple finance set back to zero due to their stationery business, and the husband refused to for CSSA after his business closed down. For the past two years, the couple relied on their savings and income of their two daughters work. The wife was willing to accompany her husband to bear hardship, but recently all their savings was nearly gone that "poverty" seemed to always provoke a war because no matter how much the wife talked, she seemed to be unable to shake her husband's persistence from not applying to CSSA. Yesterday, the two had another dispute in their Mong Kok home, at which the angry wife ended up jumping off a building. Her head suffered serious injury, and she is currently in a coma in a critical state in the hospital. Though her husband was sad in grief, he still refused to bow down just because of poverty. The husband Lee (49 years old) and wife Chow (50 years old) lived in a flat on 4th floor at 490 to 492 Reclamation Street, and they had a son and three daughters, aged between 10 to 20 something years old. The family of six had lived in aforementioned site for more over nine years. At 1 o'clock yesterday night, the couple had a fierce quarrel due to money again. The husband retreated to room in anger leaving the wife to comtemplate in the living room. Wife probably had a bee in her bonnet over thinking their dispute who suddenly climbed out of the window in bare feet jumping out of the building, where her body hit an air-conditioner on 2nd floor of building's external wall before bouncing off to the road. She was unconscious lying on the road with a head injury, and passerbys found her calling the police. Some Witnesses said that an ambulance happened to be in the vicinity of the incident to deal with a drunken case because once the three ambulance staffs received report of this incident, they immediately ran toward the scene to give first aid for the injured until other colleagues came to support. Wife Chow was immediately sent to hospital for emergency treatment and she was still in critical condition. Subsequently, the police found the 4th floor unit's windown open so they immediately investigated the fourth floor apartment. Lee, just got up, was tired when he opened the door, but due to many clients from downstairs brothels often ringing his door bell, Lee refused to openh the door thinking he was harassed by the clients and yelled at the police inside the house. Police officers seeing the uncooperative Lee, worried that a murder might have taken place inside the house, thus they immediately asked for more backup including standing by with shields and batons. Before Police took action, they once again revealed their identity and alerted a woman had just fallen off a building, to which Lee finally realized his wife had disappeared, therefore he immediately opened up the door to allow officers to enter to investigate. Two daughters quickly arrive to the hospital to visit their after police informed them, but Lee had to stay behind to assist in the investigation, and he was anxious with his wife's condition. Police found out Chow commited suicide due to financial problem from a Preliminary investigation. Some police officers had suggested to apply for CSSA, but Lee was determined, "I do not want to take CSSA and even at death bed, no!", Lee then went to the hospital to see his wife, and he was quite emotional in the hospital with his 2 daughters in tears. -------------------- Once a week news update
