A woman who has been ill killed herself with charcoal in Causeway Bay. Her body was discovered by her boyfriend yesterday morning. When the police arrived at the scene, they discovered she was in fact a man. However, no suicide note was found, the police are not treating the case as suspicious.

45 year old Tam, known as Eve was working in jewelry business, she always dressed up as a woman. Eve lived with her 32 year old boyfriend Cheng in a unit at Xinan Building in King Lung Street. Police found nearly 100 figurines on display in the living room. According to source, Eve often played with the figurines, she even liaised with the other enthusiasts all over the world, and participated in the world beauty pageant for her collection. The neighbours told police that the couple appeared as husband and wife because they thought Eve was a woman. They were shocked when they found out she was in fact a man.

At around 11am yesterday morning, Cheng came back to the flat, he found Eve (Tam) unconscious in the bed, next to her was a steel bowl with burn out charcoal. He called the police straight away. When the police arrived, Eve was certified dead. Police searched the flat, they found no suicide note, they are not treating this case as suspicious. According to report, Tam suspected he has got AIDS, his health has been deteriorated over the years. He almost lost the sight in his right eye and recently, he found out his left eye was also affected. Eve was worried that he would become blind one day. He has been very unhappy and shut himself up in the flat.
