Synopsis
SZEMA SHUN (Kenneth Ma) is sent through time to the Three Kingdoms period of China history when a super typhoon hits the city where he lives. An online game freak, he is thrilled to come face-to-face with his long time idol – accomplished strategist CHUGOT LEUNG (Raymond Lam) – in rounds after rounds of wit battles. Other historic figures he meets include LAU BEI (Lee Kwok Lun), CHEUNG FEI (Tsang Wai Kuen) and CHOU YUE (Ruco Chan). Regarded as a good-for-nothing in the modern world, SHUN nevertheless finds himself reborn in the Three Kingdoms period, a time that does not belong yet so familiar to him. He has an one-night stand with imperial maid SONG YAU (Tavia Yeung) before he travels back to the future. At the end of the day, will brotherly loyalty or city slickness be his secret of success? Be prepared to be amazed by a Three Kingdoms period that you have never thought of!

- Three Kingdoms RPG, was featured at The 15th Hong Kong Filmart Entertainment Expo as one of TVB's six grand productions.
Incidents
- Due to the TVB's temporary actors (extra) strike, many of the large-scale scenes were affected. Several artists, producers, directors made cameo appearances as soldiers in the series.
- Joel Chan initially had the role of Sun Quan, but withdrew from the series due to 'personal issues'. Pierre Ngo replaces him. It was rumored, Joel's 'personal reason' was actually just to accompany his girlfriend Florinda Ho, Stanley Ho (Gambling King)'s daughter, to Europe and therefore he gave up on his jobs, including the Relic of an Emissary promotions and he kept delaying shooting his part in Three Kingdoms RPG. TVB was very displeased by his behavior and eventually decided to drop him and replace him with Pierre.
- The HK Broadcasting Authority received 27 complaints because Ron Ng was taken out of the cast. Fans were disappointed Ron wasn't part of the official cast, despite it having already announced previously and the costumes were all set. Fans were furious Raymond was casted instead and saw Raymond as the victim to 'stealing' Ron's job. Fans believed TVB just used the excuse of casting Raymond and Tavia, replacing Ron and Fala as the leads because of the previous highly successful The Mysteries of Love, therefore the company wanted good casting to please the public. In reality, TVB most likely wanted to pave the road for Raymond Lam to get the TV King award this year (2012). Fans also believed Ron's more convincing as a young gamer going into the past than Kenneth. (Translation by aZnangel)
