Student with long-term insomnia died suddenly in dream
source: wenweipo translated by cici@AsianEU Wu workers will sleep sudden death cases of young Can-body lift to the mortuary. ![]() "When you try your best but you don't succeed, When you get what you want but not what you need, When you feel so tired but you can't sleep....." A HKUST student revealed in his blog of recurrent insomnia yesterday was found unconscious on his bed by his parents in Yuen Long's Manhattan Plaza home. Alarmed parents called the police, and ambulance crew members arrived to send the boy to Pok Oi Hospital, but when he arrived at the hospital the boy was dead on arrival. Police investigation had no suspicion, and later arranged post-mortem to determine the cause of death. Died in sudden death was Ho Chan-Chung, 21 years old, lived with parents and together at 23rd Sai Ching Street in Block C of Manhattan Plaza C Block. After Ho graduated from Heung Yee Kuk high school in Yuen Long, Ho entered the University of Science and Technology studying the Industrial Engineering Department, and is now year 3 who will be graduating this year's summer. It is learned Ho has always been strong and has no illness in particular. The day before, he played football with old friends, returning home as usual, and did a little study before going to bed. However, in October 2007, Ho revealed in his blog that he often suffered from insomnia, and quoted from a foreign singer, Coldplay "Fix You" lyric: "When you try your best but you don't succeed, When you get what you want but not what you need, When you feel so tired but you can't sleep, Stuck in reverse......", yet separated by more than 1 year, he died suddenly. In his blog, he also described himself as "grayer than Grizzlies", referring to he studies a subject he doesn't like, but he must studied well. He also said he had poor grades and had no ambition, who also felt he was very stupid that his CV (curriculum vitae) was bleak, more bleak/empty than a white paper. The incident occurred yesterday morning at 7:16am where parents wanted to wake up his son to drink tea together, but the son was unconscious, and unresponsive. 46-years-old mother Ng immediately called the police for help. Ambulance staff arrived at the scene to treat the boy and rushed him to Pok Oi Hospital, but he was certified dead after arrival at the hospital. Police investigations showed that there was no suspicious circumstances surrounding the cause, and death cause pending for autopsy to be determined. A doctor pointed out that if an individual suffers from hidden or unexpected diseases (such as hidden heart disease, etc.), individual has the opportunity to suddenly slip into a coma while severe cases will be fatal. It is proposed that one must have an annual physical examination, so that hidden disease can be detected early in order to make appropriate treatment. -------------------- Once a week news update
