Selina Jen visits husband’s hometown for Chinese New Year

For the first time in her life Selina Jen spent Chinese New Year in her husband’s hometown at Changhua, Taiwan. The S.H.E singer, who left for Changhua immediately after filming CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala in Beijing, was ‘excused’ from the trip last year as she was still undergoing therapy for her burn wounds then.

Selina’s father-in-law, who is also the Chairman of the Board managing Baguashan Buddha in Changhua, played tour guide to the singer during the day trip. In return, she laughed that she became a “real-life standee” for visitors to take pictures with.

Although the 31-year-old was delighted when a tourist complimented her for looking “not plump at all” and having a face that is “not as big as it looks on TV”, her mood was dampened when her aunt-in-law jokingly asked if she put on weight again. She cried, “No! I clearly slimmed down.”

The couple returned to Taipei that night and visited Selina’s parents on the next day. When asked if she brought them any souvenirs from Changhua, the singer replied, “Mum will be happy as long as I return home with a filial heart.”
