There are still two weeks to Valentine's Day and looks like many men can't save if they are to take this opportunity to send flowers or have a candlelight dinner with lovers.

She says prices of flowers rises because of RMB revaluation and flowers are ten percent more expensive this year than last year where a bouquet of twelve roses cost seven hundred eighty dollars. Some of her customers are generous who are willing to pay for United States roses sold for twelve hundred dollars for a dozen. Manger says her florist has even received a order for ninety nine roses. In addition to regular red roses, blue roses or purple roses are the alternative and some customers also pick roses with a pair of stuff-animal-bears and heart-shaped gift box.

Another florist sold eleven roses for five hundred dollars last year but seven hundred and twenty dollars this year, to which the person in charge points to the appreciation of RMB and rise in labor as causes. Person in charge expects sales to be same as last year. Anna Flower House spokesman also says a bouquet of roses sold for seven hundred to eight hundred dollars this year comparing to about six hundred to seven hundred dollars last year.

All seven hotel restaurants set on the night of Valentine's Day is half-full, in which buffet dinner reservation is full and some customers even reserve for spaces back before Christmas last year. Mr. Yue believes live band and good atmosphere in the restaurant has helped increases reservation. Buffet dinner costs six hundred eighty-eight dollars plus service charge and this cost is about five percent more than last year with the increase of inflation. The hotel's Italian restaurant is pushing two thousand nine hundred and eighty dollar's Valentine's Day packages, that is three hundred dollars more than last year, and booking is at seventy five percent.
