Red light flashes for Boys Over Flowers

The danger red light flashes for KBS idol drama ‘Boys Over Flowers’.

Following Kim Hyun Joong and Kim Joon’s car accidents on the way home after late night filmings, Lee MinHo is the next actor to meet with a car accident.

On the night of 26th January, Lee MinHo was going home after filming with the accompany of his manager when they met with a minor car accident. Fortunately no one was injured and Lee MinHo headed home after the situation was cleared. But this has clearly showed the danger of doing filming late into the night for the actors.

Before this, Kim Hyun Joong, who also stars in the same drama, met with an accident on 21st January, he did not sustain from any injuries but the right side of the car he was travelling in then was badly damaged. Also on the 22nd, Kim Joon from the cast had also met with a car accident where his car had collided with another taxi but he was not injured as well.

Currently, it was said that the condition for filming has been deteriorating with the actors having to do filming overnight until the wee hours of the morning. The actors and representatives have spoken up about this, “Even though this is very tiring for us, the viewership for the show is coming out really good and we are really happy that the viewers love the show.”

Even without any filming schedules, the cast will have to do interviews and go onto broadcast programs, this makes 24 hours in one day all used up for activities.

The managers to these actors are also having a tiring time. The actors would at least get to have some rest when they are travelling from one place to another but the managers are still working when the actors are having their rest time. This makes managers having to work under the conditions of sleepiness many a times, which can be dangerous.

Kim So Eun Hints At Possible Boys Before Flowers Happy Ending (Credit: Coolsmurf)

Kim So Eun expressed in a recent interview that she hopes that there will be a happy ending in KBS Boys Before Flowers for her and Kim Bum.

Kim So Eun expressed that she knows that Gal Eul (Kim So Eun) and Yi Jung (Kim Bum) doesn’t have a love relationship in the original manga at all but remained optimistic. She said, “I have a small wish. And that is wishing that my character and Yi Jung can have a happy ending in Boys Before Flowers.” She shly added, “There seems to be a happier ending in the Korean version.”

Kim So Eun was also very grateful to Goo Hye Sun for taking really good care of her. Although Kim So Eun (19) and Goo Hye Sun (24) have a age difference of 5 years, they have become best of friends off and on set and So Eun would ask the experienced Hye Sun for tips whenever she encounter difficulties.

So Eun said, “Really have to thank Goo Hye sun unnie for taking really good care of me. Goo Hye Sun unnie is different from the other casts. She is outgoing, straightforward and gets along very well with everyone on the filming set. She is someone whom you can get along with easily and feel comfortable.”

So Eun concluded, “Goo Hye Sun unnie really treated everyone very well. During our overseas filming in New Caledonia, the food being served wasn’t really good and suitable and we suffered a lot. But unnie prepared additional food for us and took care of us in a very friendly manner. Really thankful to her.”

Fans of Kim So Eun will have one less chance to see her on screen as her role of the young Chun Chu in KBS Empress Chun Chu has ended in Episode 8 shown on 25th January, with Chae Si Ra taking over as the adult Chun Chu

‘Boys Before Flowers’ Dethrones ‘East of Eden’ (Credit: Hanfever)

Now for some TV ratings report in the early morning of second day of the Lunar New Year. KBS 2TV’s “Boys Before Flowers” has overtaken the reigning champion, MBC’s “East of Eden“, in TV ratings, for the first time since its debut.

According to TNS Media Korea, “Boys Before Flowers” captured a 19.5% nationwide rating in yesterday’s broadcast, giving it a 2% lead over the 17.5% obtained by “East of Eden”.

Despite the switching of positions on the rating list, both the dramas saw their viewership dropped by a significant number. This can be mostly attributed to the Korean New Year (Lunar New Year) which fell on the 26th January. This really came as a surprise for me as I had thought that the widening of gap last Tuesday would have provided some support for “East of Eden”. I didn’t think “Boys Before Flowers” would have a 2% lead this fast.

A side note, SBS “Terroir” was not aired yesterday due to the Lunar New Year celebration and will only be back next week.
