Reality show 'Bride Wannabes' a popular hit, TVB follows up with a Male version

Five "Sing Lui" (Ladies Left Behind) makes up TVB's reality show Bride Wannabes, about ladies finding true love. It has only been 3 days since its premiere and has already become a hot topic in HK. The ratings peaked at 26 points with about 1.67 million viewers. On myTV, the number of views even surpass the TVB prime time series. It was understood that TVB intends to shoot a male version "Sing Lam" (Men Left Behind) after completing the 10 episodes of Bride Wannabes. The group of single FaDans have hope for this show as well, even Samantha Ko wants to take the opportunity to snag a 'suen poon' (good deal). She shouted: "Are there any good guys to be introduced to me?"

The Monday broadcast of reality show Brides Wannabe had a 10 month long production. Former TVB GM Stephen Chan 'borrowed' the Tuesday Report editor (Sam Ying) from the news department to be the director of this show. Only four episodes have been aired, and the show has already become a hot topic, especially episode three where 39 year old Florence didn't like the university lecturer.

Christine Ng is also watching the show, and praises that it's good. She said: "This isn't an entertainment variety show, it is a show that the news department spent 10 months to do, and has be quite successful." When speaking of the contestants being severely criticized? She said: "The show has all Hong Kong women. Some people online say they are so pretty, but are still 'pork chops'. Don't talk about others, when you aren't any better. This is a show that took 10 months to produce, a very good show to watch."

Christine had always loved guys, when asked about a male version of the show? She said: "I actually think the girl version is better, so that's why the first season is about the girls first. We'll see!" Christine had always loved watching Mr. Hong Kong, she said: "It's just necessary for work, no choice."

Also, Nancy Wu came back to HK from Mainland and also heard about this show from friends, so she will check it out herself online. When asked if she wants to watch the male version? She said: "To some extent, it is just a reflection of society's phenomenon. Why are there more women then men, but there are still 'Sing Lam'? We shouldn't just be attacking. (Would you want a handsome guy?) I would use a positive angle to see it, listen to what he has to say."

As a single 'Sing Lui', Joyce Tang is also looking forward to see the male version of the show. She said: "If it's interesting then that's ok and can help me find someone. However, I believe girls can't find a partner because they are shy, so I wonder if its the same for guys?"
