Tragic death of the driver being divided into two parts, his corpse is covered with a tent
A truck driver just celebrated 31-years-old birthday nine days before and is planning a wedding by taking two part time jobs working over 20 hours trying to save money, lost control of his car yesterday morning near the Merrill village of Sha Tin. The driver probably dozes off, loses control of the vehicle, hits a curb, and he is not buckled in that he is thrown out from the truck. His body is caught in between the curb and the vehicle, and body being dragged along the curb for 100 meters that his body is torn apart. The truck loses control and the unmanned truck travels for another 400 meters before it comes to a halt. The family arrives at the accident scene to pray afterward, but all break down in tears.
The deceased name is Ng Ho-wing, and he has eight brothers and sisters. He is the youngest child and his mother becomes blind in his early years. After studying in primary school, Ng Ho-wing drops out of school early to obtain an occupational license plate to be a truck driver. He and his girlfriend lives together in a flat in Choi Yuen Estate. Though of limited means, he still gives money to his mom on time every month. Earlier this year, he says he will get married with his girlfriend. And in order to earn more money, he takes two part time jobs; one job is to make on-call services delivery with a truck, another is delivering vegetables and newspapers at midnight. Both jobs hour are nearly 20 hours, so rest time is limited.
The accident happens in Tsing Sha Road towards Tai Po Road in the direction of Kowloon, near the Merrill village of Sha Tin. At the site, there's a ramp climbing into a through-road, and the roads are noise screen two-lanes "mini-tunnels". Yesterday morning at 7:50am, Ng Ho-wing accelerates the truck on a slanted ramp merging into the larger lanes that he loses control in the fast lane, crashing into a curb on the right hand side, and he himself being thrown out of the vehicle caught in between the truck and the curb sliding nearly 100 meters. Before he can struggle out of the vehicle, he is already torn apart. The unmanned truck still has momentum gliding down the left side of the carriageway careering through more than 400 meters, repeatedly hitting the left curb roadside and crashing into the curb before coming to a halt. The right side truck dragging along the driver against the curb, and the curb are stained with blood that it is very terrify to look at.
Highway officers found the truck, and firefighters rush to the rescue, but rescue personnel find the victim has already been severed. Police immediately closes the scene for investigation. As a result of no evidence of brake marks, when investigating, police can only determine the cause of accidents by crash marks. Sources say the victim is first thrown out of the vehicle and dragged about 100 meters, the unmanned truck subsequently travels forward for more than 400 meters, and the left body of the truck hits the curb several times before the truck coming to a halt, that is an estimated distance of 500 meters all together.
Police investigates this case in accordance with speeding, mechanical failure and will conduct an in-depth investigation. Yesterday afternoon, the deceased's family comes to the accident site to pray with the assistance of the police. The deceased's fiancee cries in tears, and calling the deceased's name frequently to come "home", and it is a really heart-wrenching scene. Though deceased's blind mother is disabled, she still arrives at the scene, but she did not get off the car.
