Old man threw stuff like mad down the street from home
source: takungpao translated by cici@AsianEU Old man threw a bunch of junk from apartment to street ![]() An old man claiming "No one would know" he dies after his death, threw junk down the street from home ceaselessly for more than an hour in Ho Man Chun Man Court apartment yesterday morning. Dozens of onlookers gathered around and asked, "How come he doesn't throw money down the street"? Eventually, police had to break into the flat to put the old man under control and sent him to hospital for tests because they suspected the old man had psychiatric problems. Old man's last name was Wong (78 years old), living in a flat in Chun Man Court. At Eleven o'clock yesterday morning, old man was home alone and suddenly he became erratic throwing junks continuously from kitchen's window to the street, including a TV remote control, cellphone, carpet, kitchen cleaning supplies, fruit, etc. Fortunately, the junks fell onto a open courtyard across from the building, and there was no passersby, so no one was injured, but this startled the security guard who went to check. It was believed that the security guard couldn't stop the old man that he had to call the police for help. Police arrived at the scene who was also at a lost and requested firefighters assistance, and notified negotiators to help persuade. But old man turned a deaf ear, throwing even more objects down the street. Both sides deadlocked for more than an hour later, and police thought it would be unwise to let this kept going that after a discussion with the firefighters, they decided to take stronger action. Therefore, police officers and firefighters inspected the environment, considering storming into the house would solve the problem, and they immediately took action. Surprisingly, the old man did not resist and let ambulance staff loaded him onto a stretcher bed. A woman, who was a relative of the old man rushed to accompany the old man to a hospital for observation. -------------------- Once a week news update
