Michael Miu Steals the Show in "Drive of LIfe"

Since the success of "Heart of Greed," the popularity of veteran actors with audiences was undeniable. Next Monday, July 16th, TVB will be airing 60 episode series, "The Drive of Life" 《歲月風雲》. The first 10 episodes focus on the love and hate among the Wah brothers, Damien Lau Chung Yan, Liu King Sung, and Michael Miu Kiu Wai. Numerous netizens complain that the story dragged and the series was boring.

Veteran actors, Michael Miu and Sheren Tang Shui Man will have significant screen time.

Although the series will focus on Charmaine Sheh, Myolie Wu, Raymond Lam and mainland actor, Feng Shao Feng, Michael Miu Kiu Wai stole the show in the first 10 episodes.

Although married to Sheren, the wealthy Michael continued to be a player. Unable to withstand Michael's womanizing habits, Sheren reunited with her ex-boyfriend, Ng Wai Kwok in Vancouver. Returning to Hong Kong with Ng, she divorced Michael.

Sheren caught Michael flirting with numerous women:

- While on an airplane, flight attendant, Vivien Yeo Sau Wai was captivated by the wealthy and mature Michael.

- Michael was a bar owner in Vancouver. Sheren caught him flirting with a waitress and fired her on the spot.

- At a friend's gathering, Michael met Angela Tong Ying Ying. The pair stole an intimate moment inside the kitchen. Again, Sheren caught Michael cheating with another woman.

Departing from his righteous police officer character in "The Academy," Michael was extremely convincing as the wealthy player in "The Drive of Life." Coupled with his flirtatious words and magnetizing eyes, no wonder numerous women such as Angela Tong, Vivien Yeo etc. were mesmerized. When Sheren reunited with Ng Wai Kwok, husband and wife both have affairs on the side. This was more interesting than the feud among the Wah brothers!

Toby Is Innocent

Although parents Micheal and Sheren have a complex relationship, daughter Toby Leung Ching Kei has an innocent personality. She even developed a crush on "Car Expert," Ron Ng Cheuk Hei. Unfortunately Ron only treated her as his friend.

Myolie Fights Over Raymond

The love rectangle involving Charmaine Sheh, Raymond Lam, Myolie Wu, and Feng Shao Feng will not take central focus until the latter part of the series. However the evil Charmaine and happy-go-lucky Myolie often face-off each other in the early scenes, distinguishing the boring atmosphere.

As the series progresses, Charmaine and Raymond will turn from a bickering duo into a dating couple. However, Raymond's secretary, Myolie continues to secretely love him. At the same time, Raymond's cousin, Feng Shao Feng, loves and supports Myolie.

Charmaine and Raymond decide to get married, but Charmaine suspects that her mother's suicide was caused by Raymond's father, Damien Lau. When Charmaine and Raymond's marriage plans fall apart, Myolie and Raymond become further involved. However Charmaine and Raymond could not forget each other and Myolie loses Raymond.

Although Michael and Sheren were seasoned actors, other artists were heavily criticized by netizens. Acting as a clumsy secretary, Myolie was dissatisfied when Charmaine joined Raymond's company. Greasing Charmaine's shirt on purpose, Myolie pursed her lips and her acting was exaggerated, as if she were in a theater production.

Toby Leung was also criticized for her poor acting. When Toby discovered the marital problems between Michael and Sheren, her face contorted into sadness. She appeared to be forcing tears and netizens complained of her poor acting.
Netizens also complained that Charmaine's make-up was too heavy in "The Drive of Life."

Note: There should be more pictures, but they dont seem to be working. Will update when its available
