A Hong Kong man reportedly fell to his death from the sixth floor of popular shopping mall Times Square in Causeway Bay on yesterday evening, local media reports.

The deceased, a 64-year-old man, allegedly climbed over the glass security fencing and fell onto the second floor at around 10pm yesterday. He was then taken to Ruttonjee Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Apple Daily reports. Responding police briefly cordoned off the scene amid investigation. No suicide note has been found so far.

Last October, another man in his 60s allegedly climbed onto a chair and plunged to his death from the eighth floor of the shopping mall, according to Apple Daily. After three people reportedly fell to their deaths from the eighth floor in Times Square during 2004, the mallís management installed security measures to prevent similar incidents from happening again. Fencing has since been put in place around the sixth, seventh and eighth floors to a height of 1.8 metres on top of the existing 1.1-metre-high railing.
