A tragedy occurred in Tuen Mun in which a wife stayed with her husband's corpse for 30 hours, not knowing he was already dead. The couple live in a unit at Tuen Mun Kin Sang Estate Tai Sang House. The 38 year old deceased was named Lam, who lived with his 36 year old wife Chan. They have no children. According to source, the couple are always ill, hence the house is full of all types of medications. A few days ago, the couple had an argument and was going through a "cold war" period. Lam refused to sleep in the bedroom with the wife, he took out his duvet and pillow and spent the last few nights on the floor in the lounge. Although Chan had passed her husband's body a few times, she thought he was avoiding seeing her, hence he had the duvet covered his head.

At around 8 o'clock yesterday morning, Chan got up and found there was so movement from her husband. She also smelled a foul smell coming from his body, she then tried to wake his up. To her horror, his body was black and very stiff, there was no sign of him breathing either. She called the police. When the police arrived, Lam was certified dead. Chan was devastated and burst out in tears, needing support by the policewoman.

No visual injury was found in Lam's body. As the body has been dead for over 30 hours, the heavy crime squad has taken over the case for investigation. Lam's body was taken to the mortuary awaiting for autopsy. The police have taken away some poison liquid and other medications including some medicine bottles. The do not rule out suicidal attempt.
