Hu Ge finds his role in life after serious car crash

SOON after young mainland actor and singer Hu Ge rose to fame in the martial arts drama "Legend of Sword and Fairy" in 2006, he was involved in a serious car accident.

But he was back at work, starring in TV drama "Legend of the Condor Heroes," after 10 months of treatment and plastic surgery for scars on his face.

Though the drama has not been officially released on local TV yet, fans will be able to see their idol tonight on the Art Channel's special singing program themed on the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.

Hu, Hong Kong actor Eric Tsang and film maker Stanley Kwan have been invited as performing guests.

The actor wrote down his feelings, thoughts and struggles during his treatment and money raised from the book about his ordeal has been donated to charity.

"My friends and fans gave me great support when I was at the low point of life," Hu said. "Now I realize that the meaning of life for me is to help people in need."
