Harlem Yu slammed for homosexual remarks

Harlem Yu got slammed by netizens after he performed at the countdown concert in Taipei on New Year's Eve.

While singing his pop ballad "Only For You", Harlem commented, "I would like to dedicate this song to all the couples who are present tonight. By that, I mean a male and a female, not two males, two females or whatsoever."

Netizens were immediately outraged by his remarks and felt unhappy that he allegedly discriminated homosexuals in public.

Netizens remained unappeased even after Harlem's manager's clarification stating that the singer-host "meant no harm when he made those comments. He has supported such [homosexuality] events in the past too."

Hong Kong socialite Gigi Chao, who has recently announced her homosexuality, has also indirectly criticized Harlem as "ignorant" and his comments were "nonsensical".
