Fans go wild for Alien Huang, Olivia Ong at Summer Music Festival

Almost a thousand music fans crammed into the Changi City Point Arena on Saturday for Singapore radio station Y.E.S. 93.3FM's Summer Music Festival concert.

The concert featured rousing performances by singers like Freya Lim, Ming Bridges, Olivia Ong, Anthony Neely, who completed his set despite suffering from a nasty sore throat, and Alien Huang.

Huang caused a commotion when he appeared on stage, with his fans all rushing toward the stage to get closer to their idol, but the situation was quickly brought under control by the organisers.

Singapore singer Olivia Ong was also named the Music Ambassador for the Global Chinese Music Awards (GCMA) 2012 - a massive Mandopop awards show which will be held in Singapore this year – during the three-hour concert, amidst loud cheers from the audience.

Jointly organised by Radio Beijing, Radio Guangdong, Radio Television Hong Kong, Shanghai Pop 101, Taiwan POP FM91.7, Malaysia Star RFM988 and Singapore's Y.E.S.93.3FM, the GCMA 2012 is scheduled to be held on November 2.

It is expected to be a star-studded affair featuring artistes from across the region.
