7 slashes kills Triad Boss

source: http://the-sun.on.cc
translator: boo

Yesterday morning, outside the Shangri-La hotel in Kowloon the Triad leader of Tsim Sha Tsui East, "Tai Lung", was ambushed by 5 people in 2 cars from the "killer gang". As Tai Lung was leaving the hotel one of the cars sped towards him and knocked him over. As he was seriously injured, even though he had been doing Kung Fu, he did not have the strength to retaliate. At this point, the killers in the second car got out and used machetes to repeatedly slash him, the duration of the horrific event only lasted 30 seconds. Later on in Tai Po the killers set their cars on fire to destroy any evidence. The police suspect that the case was possibly related to revenge and disputes over the interest of the Triads and the fact that the killers commited this crime at a hotel where tourists regularly stay at, is as though they were trying to embarass the police force.

* Tai Lung to be called "Big Brother Chiu"

The deceased, Lee Tai Lung (41 years-old), nicknamed Tai Lung, was a "Sun Yee On" triad member who looked after Tsim Sha Tsui East. He was also known as one of the ten "up and coming' bosses from the younger generation. According to some information, Lee was in charge of high-profile operations in the underworld, with his subordinates previously involved with various murders so consequently there were many grudges. After the incident, the police contacted various members of the underworld to gather information in hopes to understand what the motive was and who the killer was. It had been rumoured that Tai Lung had recently been in a dispute, over business, with a gang in Tai Kok Tsui and that he had also been involved with internal contention for getting promoted through the ranks.

Horrific event lasted only 30 seconds

Yesterday morning 4am, Mr.Lee arrived outside the Shangri-La Hotel in his Mercedez-Benz but who would have thought that he would be entering into an ambush. As he was walking towards the hotel with half a cigar in his mouth, a seven-seater car sped past the right side of his Mercedez-Benz and knocked him 3 metres forward into the air.

While lying injured on the floor he tried to get up but then another car came speeding through the exit lane and blocked Tai Lung's path. Three men armed with machetes then jumped out of the car and slashed wildly at Tai Lung. He instinctively tried to block the slashes but his limbs became badly slashed, causing blood to be splattered around outside the hotel. From some obtained information, it suggests that the assailants were trained killers and the entire incident lasted only 30 seconds, and after the quick attack they immediately made their escape. According to reports, Lee was well versed in martial arts and that he could adjust easily to hostile situations. However, the plan that was carried out by the assailants left him with no chance to retaliate; first knocking him over, then slashing him to death. The private car that was involved with the case was found in Tai Po destroyed due to arson.

1) Triad boss arrives outside hotel, as soon as he gets out of his car a seven-seater car speeds towards him from behind. He gets knocked forward 3 metres.

2) At this point a private car drove up the opposite lane to where Tai Lung lay, then 3 men armed with machetes got out the car and started slashing at the Triad boss. He took at least 7 slashes and later died in hospital.

* The private car involved in the case was destroyed due to arson.

Both cars involved in the case destroyed by arson

Paramedics arrived on the scene where they discovered the injured and unconscious Tai Lung, they checked for breathing and a pulse but found no signs of both. A man shouted,

"Don't film! He is my (mafia) boss!"

The injured Tai Lung was confirmed to be dead early in the morning at 6am. Reports says that Lee took 6-7 hits and the suspect's car that hit him caused fatal injuries. His body is now subject to an autopsy to verify the true cause of death.

About half an hour away from the crime scene in Lam Kam Road near Hang Ha Po, Tai Po, the killers burnt the 2 cars outside the site of the Drainage Services Department. The registration plate were removed confirming that the vehicles were both stolen.

* The deceased left behind a leather shoe and half a cigar.

* The emergency hammer left behind by the killers.

* The victim arrived at the hotel by car, where the ambush was set. A large amount of fresh blood was covering the ground.

Yesterday morning at 10 am, members of the Tactical Unit arrived at the hotel to search for evidence. They took the deceased Tai Lung's black leather shoes, half a cigar and a 6 inch long emergency hammer. In the west district of Kowloon, the Anti-Triad Squad investigating the case classified it as premeditated murder. They went on to collect the tapes of the CCTV cameras frp the hotel and those nearby as evidence. The police believe that the killers acquired the schedule and route plans of the deceased, and furthermore, brought along an emergency hammer. The hammer was meant to be used to break the window of the victim's Mercedez, in case the victim rolled up the car window, so then they could kill him. The police also believe that the killers also planned their attack from two different directions and that at least 5 killers are involved in the case.

Update: 17 people arrested in connection with last months murder in Tsim Sha Tsui
