A family tragedy occurred in Wong Tai Sin ending with husband being killed. An 84 year old retired kitchen hand married a mainland woman a few years ago. She recently got a single permit to Hong Kong. The wife knew he has three properties in which he collects rent in guangzhou as well as over $100,000 HKD saving for his funeral cost. She has been asking his for money like a cash dispenser as she was worried that he was leaving all his properties and funeral money to his two sons by his first wife. Two days ago, she asked her husband for money again, when he refused, she frantically stabbed him to death. She then packed a bag and hid in Tsz Wan Shan. Early hours yesterday morning, she couldn't stand the cold and she was hungry, she called the police. She was rescued by the parachuters from the fire service. She was arrested when the police learned of the killing.

The deceased was her 84 years old husband in the name of Wong was retired as a kitchen hand over 10 years ago. 14 years ago, he moved to a unit in Tsz Ching Estate Ching Tai House. As his first wife died a while ago, in 2004, he went to the mainland and married Fong. Fong obtained a single permit to enter Hong Kong in 2009 and successfully got her name registered in the housing unit in Ching Tai House. She only moved in the unit two months ago. According to the neighbors, the couple always argued and they often heard her swearing at her husband.

Although Wong had retired a long time ago, he had over $100,000 in his bank account and three properties in guangzhou for him to collect rent from. He had two sons who are in their 50s from his first wife. They came to Hong Kong with a single permit earlier. Fong was worried that Wong would leave the three properties to them and she ended up having left with nothing. She kept asking him for money the past two months and were heard frequently arguing about money. Two mornings ago, Fong asked Wong for money again, he refused and they started an argument. In a rage, she went to the kitchen to pick up a chopping knife. She stabbed him many times and he was bleeding profusely. She then helped him into the bedroom and laid him down on the bed and covered him with a duvet. A few hours later, she found him dead, she was panicky. She packed a few clothes and took her cell phone along to escape in the nearby hill in Sha Tin.

Early hours yesterday morning, the weather was cold, foggy and it was drizzling with rain. Fong was very hungry, she couldn't stand it any longer, she dialled 999. She told the police she got lost in the mountain and she also told the police she had killed her husband. The police sent a team to the house and found Wong laid dead on the bed with multiple knife wounds, believed to have been dead for over 10 hours. At the same time, over 40 officers from the Police Tactical Unit carrying torches to help search for her. They shouted "Ah Wah, we are here to rescue you, please come out". Fong was located at about 3am in the morning. When they found her, she said "Someone was chasing after me trying to kill me, I am very scared." It took the police parachuters 3 hours to rescue her from the hill. Wong Tai Sin Crime Unit is following the case.
