2 postal workers injured in an unconventional mail theft
source: takungpao translated by cici@Asianeu 2 postal workers were taken to hospital ![]() One morning on 11:58am, 2 outsourced postal workers arrived at Po Tat Estate in their outsourced company van and placed three bags of mail on a trolley ready to sent to the lobby at a specified location for other postal workers to distribute. Suddenly, two men approached from behind, each holding a bottle of spray, squirting spray toward the two postal workers' faces and eyes leading two unaware postal workers panic-stricken screaming with irritated eyes. Two thieves took this opportunity to grab two bags of mail from trolley and fled toward the car park direction jumping into a van that was parked there in advance with two more thieves waiting inside leaving in high-speed. At this time, a female security guard approached the postal workers and called police for help. Police officers ordoned off the scene for investigation and they believed the van the thieves rode in had a false number plate; two injured postal workers were admitted to a hospital while the female security guard was sent into a hospital for treatment due to having discomfort from inhaling spray. The two postal workers at age 50 and 35 were discharged from hospital after treatment later in the day. To about 6:00pm, police received a report that the two lost bags of mail were found in a mailbox in Fanling and all mail, 1100 letters, was recovered. So far, police could not determine the thieves motive. This post has been edited by cici: Jan 10 2010, 03:23 AM -------------------- Once a week news update
